Frequently asked questions

  • Where should I put the waste material?

Before choosing an area to heap up the waste material it is important to ensure that there are no low overhanging tree branches or cables as these will prevent our driver from being able to load the vehicle. In addition to this please ensure that the driver is able to pull the vehicle directly alongside the material.
  • Can a grab lorry load over a fence or wall?

As long as our driver is able to pull the vehicle up close alongside to the fence or wall and able to see the material to be loaded from the control platform behind the cab.
  • How long will it take to load the vehicle?

Provided that the material we are collecting is heaped up in a single easily accessible pile, our drivers should be able to load the vehicle in around 15-30 minutes.
  • How wide is a grab lorry?
Our grab lorries are approximately 3 metres wide. However, please remember that our driver would need additional clearance space either side to allow room for manoeuvre in and out of the site.
  • How high is a grab lorry?

The minimum headroom needed for a grab lorry to pass under is 3.8 metres. Our operator would then require at least an additional 2 metres to operate the crane.
  • How much notice will you need for online bookings?

We recommend that you book at least TWO working days from today if you require a specific date or delivery time. We can sometimes still accommodate a booking made on the same day so please call our office on 01243 57 58 59 if this is the case. The same applies to bookings for a Saturday, we are unable to accept these online, please telephone us to arrange.
